Review:
I discovered this book about two maybe three years ago. At the time I was still reading Harry Potter Fan Fiction and one of the favorite ships I used to read was Lily and James. A few of the stories I read were about James being a pirate. For one of the stories, the author said her inspiration for the story was the Bloody Jack series. I went to Borders and found the first book on the shelf, sat at the store, read the first two chapters, and fell in love with little Mary "Jacky" Faber.

The novel starts with little Mary as she tries to survive on the streets of London as a member of Rooster Charlie's gang. She had lost her family due a plague that had sweep through London, leaving her penniless and alone. After the death of a much beloved character, Mary decides she cannot live in the streets any longer and must find a way to make it in the world. Her solution is pretend to be a boy, cut her hair, and she renames herself Jack Faber. She is chosen to be a Ship's Boy on the HMS Dolphin and here her adventures begin.

I had so much fun reading reading this novel. Mary has very thick street British accent and it was so much fun to read. The plot is intriguing and you hope Jacky doesn't get caught. There are some amazing characters in this novel and throughout the series. I highly recommend this novel.

Rating: 5 stars-Absolutely Perfect

I absolutely loved this book! The plot was amazing. The characters were unique and memorable. Everyone MUST read this book!
