It's Monday, What are you reading? 7/19

It's Monday, What are you reading? is hosted by Sheila @ One Person's Journey Through a World of Books. This is a wickedly awesome weekly event where I get to update everyone on my reads from this past week and my reads for this week.

I had a really slow reading and reviewing week. I read one book and reviewed two. I started Darklight and got further into F*ck It, which I love. The reason for the slow week is because I have been working on my new blog design. My design is currently up and running, but I still have some kinks I have to work out. If you notice that something doesn't work or you have some suggestions on improvements, I am all ears. I plan to keep this design until the next bloggiesta, which I think will be in January, not sure.

I did everything myself with the help of tutorials provided by blog designers. If you are interested in the sites or how I did certain things, feel free to ask and I will answer in my next post!

Read Last Week:

Tongues of Serpents by Naomi Novik-I went to Naomi's signing, my first, this past Saturday! I will post pics, my impressions and some info!

Currently Reading:

F*ck It by John Parkin (50%)
Darklight by Lesley Livingston (114 out of 312)

To Read:

Iron King by Julie Kagawa (library)
Presumed Dead by Shirley Wells (galley)
Blinded by Our Eyes by Clare London (galley)
The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott (Won!)
The Nosy Neighbor by Fern Michaels (Won!)
Rushed to the Alter by Jane Feather (Won!)

Upcoming Event:

Emma Michaels will be coming to My World of Books to guest post on Thursday! She will be discussing the book blogging community. If you haven't heard, Emma was a book blogger! Now, she is an author. The Thirteenth Chime is her first novel, which will be released August 13. She wants to discuss how supportive, positive, and helpful we bloggers were towards her journey of becoming an author! Come swing by to show your support!

I'm reading "Infamous" by Ace Atkins, a historical fiction novel about George "Machine Gun" Kelly and his wife during a famous kidnapping affair.

I am reading Awakened by a Kiss by Lila DiPasqua. It's an erotic historical antho--retelling of classic fairy tales :)

I LOVE your new bloggy layout. The textures are lovely! :)

@Laurel: No problem! I love your site. And I haven't read Fern Michaels so I am intrigued as well.

@Stephanie: I loved the books. I definitely think Darklight is better than the first.

It's funny because the first thing I thought when I came to your site was how much I like the looks of it! So I can really tell you've been putting in a lot of hard work. Great job!
